Near-instant hot water, less waste
In bigger homes, or where the water heater is far from the bathrooms, you can wait a long time for hot water — and pour gallons down the drain doing it. A recirculation pump circulates hot water so it's ready when you turn the tap, which is both a daily convenience and real water savings over a year.
System types
There are two main approaches: a dedicated return line (best, often added during construction or a remodel) that loops water back to the heater, and a comfort-valve system that uses your existing cold line as the return so most homes can retrofit without major repiping. We'll recommend the right one for your layout and water heater.
Controls so it isn't running for nothing
A pump that runs 24/7 wastes energy and wears out faster. We put recirculation on a timer that matches your routine, or on an on-demand control that runs the pump only when you push a button or trip a motion sensor — so you get instant hot water when you want it and nothing when you don't.
Repairs and replacements
If your hot water suddenly takes much longer than it used to, the recirculation pump may have failed, the check valve may be stuck, or the timer/control may be off. We diagnose the pump, valve, and controls and repair or replace what's needed to get instant hot water back — and confirm it's circulating correctly before we leave.
